Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information News.ai (the “App”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. The App is provided by ALTERSIDE INTERACTIVE PRIVATE LIMITED (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@alterside.io.
1. Information we collect

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, or payment information. The App does not contain third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
2. How we use information
- To provide and maintain the App, including sign-in, saved articles and language settings.
- To show the in-app notifications for the categories you have enabled.
- To keep the App secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand usage and improve features and content quality.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. AI processing of news content
News.ai uses AI services to gather, summarize and fact-check publicly reported news stories. That processing works on news content, not on your account. We do not send your email address, account details or your searches to these AI providers.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:
- Service providers that host and operate the App on our behalf. Our servers are hosted with a cloud provider in Bangalore, India, and are bound by confidentiality and security obligations.
- Authorities or other parties where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, us or the public.
- A successor if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will tell you and this policy will continue to apply to your data.
When you tap a source link, you leave News.ai and the publisher's own privacy policy applies to that website.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account (or guest session) is active. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the App, or on the web at https://news-api.alterside.io/delete-account. We process deletion requests promptly and no later than 30 days after we receive them. We may keep limited information where the law requires it or where needed to resolve disputes and prevent abuse.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS, and passwords are stored only as salted hashes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live — including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the EU/UK GDPR and California privacy law — you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email hello@alterside.io. You can also change your language and notification settings in the App at any time.
8. Children
News.ai is intended for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, please use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13; if you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International use
Our servers are located in India. If you use the App from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in India.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the App.
